January - Lots of country visitors are down for the Sales from Boxing Day onwards. The Empire Theatre re-opens mid month with John Butler Book If you need to stay in town book early to avoid disappointment as everyone stays longer than usual due to transfers and back to school in Toowoomba. With summer in full swing, children love the wave pool at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre.
February as with all months, offers Sunday markets every week-end.
With concerts plus in February visit the Empire Theatre's excellent website. If you watched Australian Idol, they are on tour! March - With Easter being early this year, the Gospel music Festival will have some competition for everyone's attention. Along with the Autumn Home Show and Toowoomba Dressage Inc and Old Machinery Rally it's a big month. People needing to stay for weeks at a time, book early!! May enjoy the beginning of the crisp fresh air that is part of Toowoomba's perrential charm, while you take a leisurely drive out to Preston Peak winery and look back at Toowoomba from the spectacular southern ridge or visit the Pioeer Village at Highfields. All wonderful to walk around when the weather is cool. June The busiest month in Toowoomba- if you want to experience a mild, but exhilarating winter, now's the time to do it!! The Toowoomba Art Gallery have a wide variety of exhibitions from paintings, jewellery, textiles photography and mixed media with a constantly changing display to delight visitors. July - offers an opportunity to enjoy Christmas in July at any one of Toowoombas marvellous restaurants and really feel the winter joy of hot Turkey and plum pudding with all the festive trimmings. August - book well ahead if you need to come to town. The Chocolate Shop at Highfields is always a treat and open all week-end and most week days to look after those who appreciate a mountain view with their lunch and the pleasure of hand made chocolates with their coffee. Homes Show time again November
- This is break up month for all the boarding students and parents arrive
in their hundreds with trailers to take home the entire years collection
of odd socks, unwashed clothes and priceless works of art along with three
times the number of items their off-spring arrived at school with. This
is also your opportunity to support the Bush Christmas markets which starts
in the last week of November and will be held

December - School holidays and families are on the move through Toowoomba - book early for Christmas as family accommodation is harder to get over that week. |
